Definition: Christian Service Training Institute is a combined educational effort. Its staff consist of ministers of the UPCI who possess pastoral, evangelistic, missionary, and educational experience.

Doctrine: Christian Service Training Institute abides by and fully endorses the Articles of Faith of the United Pentecostal Church International.

Preamble and History: Realizing a need for a comprehensive training program for members and workers in the local churches who are not able to go to Bible College, in 1973,  the ministers of Section One of the then Western District of the United Pentecostal Church International instituted a coordinated effort called Christian Service Training Institute.

Results were not slow in coming. Through the years the quality of training has proven itself, with graduates in nearly every phase of the ministry, including pastors, assistant pastors, evangelists, missionaries, school administrators, and both Bible school and parochial school instructors. Training workers in the local church is our primary goal, fulfilling offices from Sunday School teachers to music directors, youth ministers, etc.

While the teaching of the Word of God is always uppermost, emphasis has consistently been placed upon training in the practical aspects of service. Thus a well-balanced and effective worker has resulted from this training program.

Graduates are sound in the faith, established in doctrine and Scriptural principles, and at the same time, they are trained to use the knowledge thus gained in active places of Christian service. CSTI is dedicated to providing the opportunity for all who desire to be trained for effective service in the Harvest.
